Period Door with Stained GlassWe made this period front door and frame for a customer in York. The door and frame are exact replicas of the originals. We removed the original stained glass and had it encapsulated within sealed double-glazed units to improve overall thermal efficiency.
The woodwork is in Accoya®. We pre-finished the wood with a light oak stain to mirror the original. The door has quality brass hardware, a modern multi-point locking mechanism, and Aquamac (AQ21) draught-excluding seals.
It is always regrettable when once beautiful period doors eventually fail, but we can always find a solution. We use traditional methods to craft doors and can replicate any Georgian, Victorian, or Edwardian style to match the other doors in a period property or listed building.
