Traditional Craft Skills

Ornate Window Top for Listed Building

The above image shows the top of a huge window during the manufacturing process at our joinery workshop.  The top is part of a special ornate window for a Grade II* listed building.  Grade II* buildings are of special interest and only 5.5% of all listed buildings fall into this category.  We combine skilled people, traditional methods, and quality materials when making our windows.  It gives us great pleasure to see something beautiful emerging from the planks of timber that form the basis of our craft.

Front Door in Accoya

Bespoke External Door

The above photograph shows a made-to-measure front door we manufactured and installed for a customer in North Yorkshire.  We used Accoya timber for both the door and frame.  The glass panels are double-glazed with quality gas-filled sealed units.  Sealant strips and brushes are fitted to the door in order to minimize heat loss and provide comfort for the occupants.  The door was spray painted in a Farrow & Ball colour at our own painting facility during the manufacturing process.  We use traditional methods to craft doors and can replicate any Georgian, Victorian or Edwardian style to match the original doors in any period property or listed building.

Casement Window Upgrades

Timber Casement Windows

We manufactured new windows for the above North Yorkshire property.  The new windows are double-glazed and, of course, in Accoya wood to ensure longevity and real value for money.  We spray painted the windows during our manufacturing process.  Pre-painting timber ensures our products are completely sealed and protected on the day of installation. Traditional timber windows are visually appealing and help maintain the true character of a building.

Georgian Sash Windows

Georgian Sash Windows in Bay

We manufactured new sashes and upgraded the above bay window.  The upgrade included our full double glazing package, spiral balances, seals and brushes.   All the woodwork is in Accoya® .   We can upgrade any type of sash window to improve thermal efficiency and make a property more comfortable.  Our timber sash window upgrades are available for Georgian sashes, Victorian sashes, Yorkshire sliding sashes and all of their variants.

Upgraded Timber Sash Windows

The above image illustrates some of the sash windows we recently upgraded for a customer at York.  The windows are double-glazed with quality 14mm Planitherm sealed units.  We also fitted spiral balance systems, and seals and brushes to the window frames, jambs and meeting rails in order to minimize heat loss. Accoya® timber was used to manufacture the new sashes.  We spray painted the new sashes in our own painting facility.
