Working in Leeds

New front door and frame in Accoya
External Door and Frame in Accoya

We recently manufactured and installed the above front door and frame for a customer at Leeds in West Yorkshire. All the woodwork was crafted with Accoya timber.  The quality glass panels are double-glazed with gas-filled sealed units.  Sealant strips and brushes are fitted to the door in order to minimize heat loss and improve comfort within the property.  The woodwork was spray painted at our own painting facility during the manufacturing process.  We use traditional methods to craft doors and windows and can replicate any period style to match the originals in any property or listed building.

Business Relocation

Ryedale Joinery moving to Kirby Misperton.

We are expanding our operation to cope with the increased demand for our services and products. A major part of this will be the relocation of our workshop to the Kirby Misperton industrial estate. We anticipate the move will be completed prior to the 1st March 2019, but the exact date will be announced as soon as possible.

Our business, including website, email and telephones, will be fully operational throughout the moving process. Our customers and suppliers will not experience any changes or delays in service or production. Ryedale Joinery will continue to strive to provide excellent customer care and high quality products at all times.

Windmill Windows

Windmill Windows in Accoya® Timber

We have just installed four new windows in the historic Muston Mill at Filey.  We often work on old and historic buildings, but this is the first time we have made new windows for a windmill; so we were really pleased to undertake the work.

The current mill structure was built circa 1850 but written evidence indicates windmills have stood at this location since the 14th century.  You can find lots of interesting information about Muston Mill on the owners’ website.  We wish the owners every success in restoring their mill to its former glory and look forward to eventually seeing the renovated building.

Sash Window Double Glazing

Sash Window Upgrades

The image above shows a bay containing three separate sash windows.  We manufactured the new sashes in Accoya® timber and upgraded the windows.  The upgrade included our full double glazing package, spiral balances, seals and brushes.  We also spray painted the woodwork in our own painting facility as part of the manufacturing process.   Our sash window upgrades improve thermal efficiency and make the interior more comfortable.  Ryedale Joinery sash window upgrades are available for all types of sash window, regardless of age or architectural style.

Traditional Craft Skills

Ornate Window Top for Listed Building

The above image shows the top of a huge window during the manufacturing process at our joinery workshop.  The top is part of a special ornate window for a Grade II* listed building.  Grade II* buildings are of special interest and only 5.5% of all listed buildings fall into this category.  We combine skilled people, traditional methods, and quality materials when making our windows.  It gives us great pleasure to see something beautiful emerging from the planks of timber that form the basis of our craft.
