Wood (timber) Double Doors

Double Doors in Accoya Timber

We manufactured and fitted the double doors in the above photograph. Accoya timber was used throughout because of its extreme durability. We have a short video on our website, which explains all the benefits of Accoya. We spray painted the doors during our integrated manufacturing process. Painting wooden products (during manufacture) makes so much sense because the exposed wood is sealed and weather-protected prior when we finish the installation. There is no need to wait for the next dry day to paint external woodwork with Ryedale Joinery products – a considerable benefit, given Britain’s cool wet winters and warm wet summers.

Sash Window Double Glazing

Sash Window Upgrades

The image above shows a bay containing three separate sash windows.  We manufactured the new sashes in Accoya® timber and upgraded the windows.  The upgrade included our full double glazing package, spiral balances, seals and brushes.  We also spray painted the woodwork in our own painting facility as part of the manufacturing process.   Our sash window upgrades improve thermal efficiency and make the interior more comfortable.  Ryedale Joinery sash window upgrades are available for all types of sash window, regardless of age or architectural style.

Traditional Craft Skills

Ornate Window Top for Listed Building

The above image shows the top of a huge window during the manufacturing process at our joinery workshop.  The top is part of a special ornate window for a Grade II* listed building.  Grade II* buildings are of special interest and only 5.5% of all listed buildings fall into this category.  We combine skilled people, traditional methods, and quality materials when making our windows.  It gives us great pleasure to see something beautiful emerging from the planks of timber that form the basis of our craft.

STAINED GLASS DOOR: YORK

Exterior door and frame with stained glass panels.
Period Door with Stained Glass

We made this period front door and frame for a customer in York.  The door and frame are exact replicas of the originals.  We removed the original stained glass and had it encapsulated within sealed double-glazed units to improve overall thermal efficiency.

The woodwork is in Accoya®.  We pre-finished the wood with a light oak stain to mirror the original.  The door has quality brass hardware, a modern multi-point locking mechanism, and Aquamac (AQ21) draught-excluding seals.

It is always regrettable when once beautiful period doors eventually fail, but we can always find a solution.  We use traditional methods to craft doors and can replicate any Georgian, Victorian, or Edwardian style to match the other doors in a period property or listed building.

The sash windows contain Planitherm Total (Argon gas filled) double-glazed units.  Full details of our sash window upgrade package can be found on our sash window upgrades page.

“From the Anvil” ironmongery products complete the package.  We think it is important that window and door ironmongery is fully in keeping with the overall level of quality and craftsmanship.
