New & Upgraded Timber Sash Windows

Traditional Windows for Listed Building

The extensive period property above is a grade II listed building. We recently manufactured and installed six new sash windows and upgraded ten more. To comply with local listed building regulations, we used slimline double-glazed units for all glazings. Traditional windows make an essential contribution to the significance of historic buildings. So we always strive to replicate the original historic wooden windows whilst adding double-glazed units to improve thermal efficiency and internal comfort levels.

Timber Durability and Longevity

The window frames and sliding sashes are in Accoya timber. Accoya provides the best value for money because of its durability and guaranteed longevity. To understand more about the importance of Accoya timber and its green credentials, it is worth taking a few minutes to watch the short VIDEO on our website.

Painting Wooden Windows

The wooden window frames and sliding sashes were spray-painted at our Kirby Misperton workshop in North Yorkshire. We paint woodwork during our integrated manufacturing process. Painting wooden products (during manufacture) makes sense because the exposed wood is sealed and weather-protected before installation.

Sash Window Upgrades

We  upgraded the above arched-head sash window for a customer in North Yorkshire. The new sashes were manufactured in Accoya® timber.  The upgrade included our full double glazing package, spiral balances, seals and brushes.  We spray painted the woodwork in our own painting facility as part of the manufacturing process.   Our sash window upgrade packages improve thermal efficiency and make the interior of a property more comfortable.

We combine skilled people, traditional methods, and quality materials when making our products. We can replicate any Georgian, Victorian or Edwardian style to match the original windows and doors in any period property or listed building.
